Miller和纽约时报绘制鞋子的广告插图。这组主题为追忆逝去的鞋子的作品，主要为了纪念这些在他早期的职业生涯担当过主角的鞋子。主题的灵感源自于Marcel Proust著名的小说《追忆似水年华》，而十六幅画作中，每一幅都绘有一只鞋子和一行题文，就像大家常见到的广告海报视觉一样。文字是由沃霍尔的母亲Julia Warhola以独特的字体撰写而成（或是由助手模仿她的笔迹）。
